Wht happens to extra sim

So I still have two sims that aren’t in retirement and three children and I see that there is only 4 playable sim slots so wht will happen to the third child because I wanna play all the children and my main sims aren’t ready for retirement yet and it’s not even unlocked so idk

Your sims will grow into adults and stay there until your are ready to play them when you retire one of your sims. In the mean time, you can use them for some of the stories to finish.

The only way to play one of your children is to pay for a third playable SIM. I don't even think you can unlock it:-(
