If I ask another Sim Player’s sim to move in, do they lose the ability to play that sim?

Basically, I married and had a baby with another players sim. I’m wondering what’s the hold up and why they aren’t responding to my requests for moving them in. Do they lose this sim (unplayable in their house?) or does it become a “copy”?

Correct. They don’t want to give you their sim because they don’t want to lose it

If the owner of the other Sim declines the request, their Sim will not be moved into your house. However if they accept, the Sim will be moved to your house and will move OUT of the original player’s house completely. Don’t worry, they receive a heirloom and other rewards! :)
