Can you change a friendship status into a romantic status?

I have two sims who are currently geek friends but they recently had a child together. I am trying to change their friendship status into a romantic status so they can get engaged, married, etc. So my question is, is that even possible?

You tap on them then at the top it will say more options then tap on that and you can change it to flirty.

My first Sam started a friendship story and when they got to level four I hit the free option a couple of times under more options and then it changed into all of the romantic interactions and they were able to get married

Just start being flirty

I accidently chose the confrontation button on a sim, so I pressed the more options and kept using the flirty action. I lost count of the times I did it but eventually it changed.

I think that if you press “more options” when you choose to talk to a sim, you can choose romantic and maybe change the relationship. I’m not sure though, I started with romance and stayed with it so I can’t really be certain that that is possible.

You cannot change the status of friendship but however, you can propose and marry the sim.

From what I tried,you cant change the friendship story into a romantic one but you can still propose them if your relationship level is high enough(select flirty interaction instead of friendly one).
I havent actually tried to marry them though so I'm not sure what can be done after that.
