I actually saw that when your married, click “other options” on the bottom while chatting with your husband. If you press “rival” and do mean things to him, there should be an event afterwards named “divorce”. I didnt try this yet, so I’m not quite sure if they fully leave the family.

You could just buy another playable slot and make him a playable sim

You can get divorced but if you want the husband to be playable, tap the household picture and promote him. Need to have an available playable spot.

When you talk to them, scroll all hw way down to “more options” then click “rival” and it will have a divorce option for you.

If you go to more options and then go to rival then there should be a choice to divorce them. Hope this helped!

Apparently I read somewhere you can instead of choosing friendly and flirty options, create a hateful relationship and it hopefully divorces the two
