How to remove a sim?

So I'm level 13. I have a female and a male SIM but I want to get rid of the male roommate to make room for the husband, and child I now have.
But I can't find a way to be rid of the roommate?
I tried clicking on the picture and it says I can 'Promote' the husband, but I can't do that till I remove the roommate.

Click on the sim tou want to remove/make unplayable and click that button under

You press the family portrait in the house then press the character you want to remove then press PASSIVE then press the character again and press REMOVE

You click the family portrait and you press the sim you want too remove. then it says “Passive” I think, i have it in another language lol.

It doesn’t let me delete the sim though I press remove and it does nothing

1. Buy family portrait
2. Put on any wall
3. Tap the portrait
4. Click at sim you want to remove or control
5. Make it passive to remove / make it playable to control
