Creating a playable 3rd sim!

I currently have 2 sims + 2 kids and it tells me i need to pay 175 cash to unlock a 3rd playable sim.. does the 3rd sim ever unlock on its own after a certain lvl or is paying the only way to unlock it?

You can change how your daughter look. Just click on her it'll say change appearance something like that. Hit that and you can change all but DNA.

The app creators want you to pay with real money to get Sim cash and cupcakes and etc. So I am sure you have to pay 175sim cash which I think is lame. My daughter in game is dressed like a boy and it's driving me mad.
